Spring break in Cabarete!

Surfers,

IT'S HERE! SPRING BREAK! Well, the details of spring break, at least...

The surf club will be going to Swell Surf Camp in Cabarete, DR for spring break. Swell is the #1 surf camp in the Dominican Republic. I know this because it says so on the website. It also says that it's for active and social people. That's me! And you!

Who: YOU
What: Surfing. Beach-bumming. Drinking.
When: March 1, 2013 - March 8, 2013
Where: Swell surf camp in Cabarete, DR
Why: Why the hell not?

How: Go to WGA site and reserve your spot for $200 by December 20, 2012 at 5 PM. You can decide on package and room type later. The $200 is just a deposit to the camp to hold your spot.

FAQs:

Partners: Partners are definitely welcome. Just reserve them a spot on WGA with a $200 deposit.

Flights: You are responsible for booking your own flights. However, the surf camp does provide transportation to and from the airport.

Rooming with friends/Rooming alone: We will likely book a set of rooms and you guys can switch up however you like. Chances are you won't be in the rooms all that much. If you want to book a room for just you and your partner, just shoot me an e-mail and let me know.

Cost: The surf camp packages range from $515 a week for those who do not need surf lessons, to $1315 a week for those who want Kitesurfing lessons instead of just surfing lessons. Please see the site for more details. Flights depend on where you're flying from and whether you insist on flying first class.

Why book on WGA rather than directly with Swell? If you book on WGA with the rest of the club, we could get a group discount. However, if you book on your own directly with Swell, you will not be included in the group discount.

Do I need to already know how to surf? No. You can get a package with lessons for the week. Trust me, you will be riding waves within the first 2 days.

Do I need my own gear? We will send out a list of items to bring before the trip. You don't need your own board even if you don't sign up for lessons. Probably just need sunscreen, swimsuit, and rashguard!

Who do I contact for further details? You can e-mail whartonsurf@gmail.com

Cheers,
